Michael Craven is a freelance writer, CD and ECD. He’s worked at some of the most creative agencies in the world, and has been recognized by Cannes, the One Show, the Clios, the ANDYs, the Effies, the London International Awards and more.
Prior to his freelance career, he was a VP/CD at Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, working on Microsoft, Burger King, Coke Zero and new business.
After Crispin, he was an ECD at KBS, part of the team running BMW and BMW Global.

Michael has written three crime novels, all published by HarperCollins: The Detective & the Pipe Girl, The Detective & the Chinese High-Fin and Body Copy.
He has been nominated for the Nero Wolfe Award honoring excellence in mystery fiction, and has twice been nominated for the Shamus Award for best P.I. novel of the year.
The Detective & the Pipe Girl was the #1 selling P.I. novel on Amazon two different times, besting over 20,000 titles in one of the most competitive and popular categories of Amazon Charts.
His next novel is finished and will be out in 2026. He lives and works in New York City.
